OpenAI enhances ChatGPT Sites with Build Together collaboration and custom domain support

OpenAI announced on September 12 that ChatGPT Sites gained Build Together collaboration, custom domain binding, and roughly 50% faster deployment.

On September 12, OpenAI announced further enhancements to ChatGPT Sites, adding a new Build Together collaboration feature. The feature lets users invite other people to co-develop a single site or web application, with invited members able to quickly edit, save, and publish Site content.

Previously, ChatGPT Sites projects were editable and publishable by only one user by default. With this update, users can set projects to be fully private and grant access only to specified individuals, enabling teams to run internal testing before launching products publicly.

ChatGPT Sites now also supports binding custom domains and lets users inspect the database content connected to a Site without opening a separate database client. OpenAI simultaneously cut Site deployment time by roughly half from prompt input to deployment.

ChatGPT Sites is primarily aimed at users building websites or web apps with natural language and is OpenAI's direct answer to Wix and Squarespace in the low-code website builder space.
