OpenAI launches Data Agent in ChatGPT Work
OpenAI launched Data Agent in ChatGPT Work on September 10, letting users connect enterprise data with natural language to generate analysis and dashboards without SQL.
On September 10, OpenAI announced the launch of Data Agent in the ChatGPT Work platform. The feature targets investment banking, consulting, and large enterprise teams, letting users connect enterprise data sources and documents through natural language without writing SQL, and automatically generate analysis reports and interactive dashboards.
OpenAI disclosed that an internal version of Data Agent already serves over 3,500 OpenAI employees, covering more than 600 PB of data and roughly 70,000 datasets, primarily for finance, operations, and product analytics use cases.
Data Agent is the second Agent-style tool added to ChatGPT Work in September. Earlier in the month, OpenAI launched an industry-specific ChatGPT version for financial services, powered by the GPT-6 Astra reasoning engine and focused on financial modeling and trade review.
